Asian Panorama at The Chef's Table

We just had our first dinner at one of the ship's specialty restaurants, The Chef's Table, and I couldn't resist blogging about it right now.

First of all, as with all venues on this amazing ship, the interior design of this restaurant is especially tasteful, clean and appealing.

Tonight's menu was titled "Asian Panorama" and included five courses:  chilled king crab, lobster & chicken shu mai, lemongrass & red chili, Peking duck, and a three-part dessert consiting of a spring roll, creme brulee and cheesecake.  A different wine was served with each course.  As many of you know, I'm not an adventurous eater, but I have to admit this meal was outstanding.  Every bit of it.

Here's the printed menu:

Viking seems to spare nothing and think of everything, such as the box for each of us of these printed "personal cards" (like business cards) that appeared in our stateroom today, apparently for exchanging with other passengers to facilitate contact.

We're about to watch a movie under the stars on the pool deck ("The Hurricane," the story of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter).  More later.
